Virtual Exchanges

If you are a teacher in a Davidson County, Tennessee school, Sister Cities of Nashville would love to partner with your students or classroom on a virtual language, or other type of classroom exchange.  We are currently seeking K-12 students, teachers, or classrooms to partner with peers from several of our Sister Cities for the 2025/2026 school year:

Edmonton, Canada
Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq

Mendoza, Argentina -- Spanish
Magdeburg, Germany -- German
Caen, France -- French
Taiyuan, China -- Mandarin Chinese
Tamworth, Australia

For Language Exchanges, students can be individually paired for a weekly one-on-one language exchange experience, however it is up to the classrooms and their partners to decide how to implent their individual exchange. We encourage creativity and programming that fits YOUR classroom needs. Exchanges do not need to be limited to language exchanges and can instead incorporate science, math, or other topics that spark interest and collaboration.

*Intermediate to Advanced language speaking ability is required for Spanish language pairings*

Please email our Director of Student Programming, Rachel Godfrey at [email protected] for more details or to get involved with this program.
