The Nashville to Tamworth Cross Country Experience returns for its third year!
SCN is seeking musicians interested in attending the Country Music Academy of Australia and participating in the Tamworth Country Music Festival. The deadline to apply for this contest is September 19th! Applicants must be able to accompany themselves with an instrument, and spend 3+ weeks in Tamworth this coming January.

Who we are looking for:
- A recording artist (age 18-35) who is looking to advance their career outside of the USA and wanting to learn and immerse themselves in Australian culture and country music scene.
- Someone who wants to develop friendships and grow their network of co-writers, collaborators and industry friends in Australia.
- An artist who can: accompany themselves on their instrument, write lyrics and melodies and co-write with others.
- An artist who is excited to promote Music City U.S.A. to the world.
- An artist who is a Tennessee resident.
- The individual must have or be able to obtain a US Passport and be responsible for their Tourist Visa to Australia.
- The program is open to all individuals whether signed to a record label, publishing company, management, etc. or totally unsigned!

The winner's prize includes:
- Roundtrip airfare from Nashville, TN to Tamworth, Australia for one person (up to $4,000)
- Homestay accommodation while in Tamworth (priceless)
- Free tuition to the CMAA Senior Academy of Country Music
- Per diem of $1,610 USD ($70 USD per diem x 23 days)
- Tickets to the Country Music Awards of Australia (the Toyota Golden Guitar Awards), provided by CMAA at no charge, as well as promotional, performance and co-writing opportunities
- $300 towards the cost of travel insurance and Visa fees
Please note:
- Entrants must be willing and able to travel and participate in the full experience, and stay in Tamworth from January 3 - January 26, 2026.
- All Finalists must be available for an in-person interview and acoustic performance for judges in Nashville on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 (venue & exact time will be given upon selection).
