Volunteer Opportunities Sister Cities relies on volunteers for all of its programs, and we deeply appreciate the support of our
members and friends. Unless otherwise specified, please contact Heather Cunningham (director@scnashville.org) if you have an interest in any of the volunteer opportunities listed below.
Host Home Needed for International
Volunteer Sister Cities is sponsoring a German student who will be fulfilling his civil service obligation by working at the
Martha O'Bryan Center in Nashville. We are seeking a host family for Peter Schmidt, who will be working in the afterschool
program at the Center, which serves the families of the James A. Cayce Homes in East Nashville. Like his six predecessora,
Peter will provide dependable volunteer continuity as well as exposure to a new part of the world for the children at the
Center. He'll also bring his love of music, theater, physics, and field hockey and an eagerness to make new friends.
His stay is scheduled to begin in August 2010 and end in June 2011. Hosting is a great experience. To volunteer
or get additional information, please contact Burkley Allen at burknewt@aol.com.
Edmonton, Canada Committee We
are reinvigorating our Edmonton committee! If you're interested in working on this committee, please email director@scnashville.org.

Nashville Celebrates a World of Friendship event on Sept. 23. If you'd like to get involved and help the committee with
food & beverage, decorations, and silent auction items for the fundraiser, please contact Tracy Kane at tracydkane@gmail.com.
Hosting Opportunities Sister Cities continues to seek host families and housing for our annual student and professional exchanges.
